In the month of December last year, we witnessed a high voltage drama at the box office when Shah Rukh Khan and Prabhas clashed with their Dunki and Salaar, respectively. Eventually, both films turned out to be winners by putting a solid total on the board. Now, since both films have arrived on the OTT platform, the comparison of viewership is in full swing!

Battle on the OTT platform

In the collection, Salaar was ahead of Dunki, but in terms of Netflix viewership, the picture is different. Yes, it’s the Shah Rukh Khan starrer dominating the competition on Netflix! For those who don’t know, the film arrived on the platform on 15th February and has been receiving a bumper response since then.

As per the official numbers, Dunki has garnered 4.9 million views in just 4 days (15-18 February). Speaking about the duration, it has been watched for 13 million hours. For a period of 12-18 February, the film has grabbed the 5th spot on the list of top 10 non-English films on Netflix.

Speaking about Salaar, the film arrived on Netflix on the 20th of January in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. It grabbed the 3rd spot in the top 10 non-English films during its debut week (15-21 January) and enjoyed 1.6 million views. Speaking about the time, it was viewed for 4.8 million hours across the globe.

So, we can clearly see how Shah Rukh Khan has proved his domination over Prabhas on Netflix.

Battle at the worldwide box office

Shah Rukh Khan-led Dunki was released a day earlier than Salaar, i.e., on 21st December. It saw a mixed reception for itself, but the film raked in good numbers due to the holiday season and support in India’s urban centers. In overseas, SRK displayed his unparalleled stardom and, surprisingly, enjoyed better word-of-mouth there.

In total, the film amassed 470.60 crores gross. Out of it, the Indian box office contributed 273.76 crores gross, while the overseas market contributed 196.84 crores gross.

Prabhas’ Salaar also received a mixed response from critics and audiences. However, the film found acceptance in the mass centers, resulting in a good total at the Indian box office. It ended its journey at 480.26 crores gross. In overseas, the film earned 135 crores gross, resulting in a global gross of 615.26 crores.
