Billy Magnussen Discusses His Role In Live-Action Adaptation Of Lilo & Stitch
A live-action remake of the 2002 Disney animated classic Lilo & Stitch is currently in development, with Billy Magnussen slated to play the role of Pleakley, the nervous alien responsible for helping capture Stitch, the runaway experiment, in this new adaptation.
In an interview with GamesRadar, Magnussen discussed Lilo & Stitch and how the remake is progressing compared to the original. “I don’t think you can compare pieces of art to each other,” Magnussen remarked, citing the original as one of his favorite films. He expressed his admiration for collaborating with everyone involved, especially Rideback, the production company behind the film, with whom he previously worked on Aladdin. Magnussen emphasized the theme of connection and a child’s search for friendship in the story, stressing the significance of approaching such a project with love. He conveyed his gratitude and honor for being part of the project.

Billy Magnussen stars Pleakley, Zach Galifianakis portrays Jumba, and Courtney B. Vance embodies Cobra Bubbles in the forthcoming remake. Tia Carrere takes on the role of Mrs. Kekoa, with Sydney Agudong as Nani, Kaipo Dudoit as David, and Maia Kealoha as Lilo. Additionally, Chris Sanders, a co-writer of the original film, returns to voice Stitch.
