As most know, Wednesday stars Jenna Ortega in the leading role of Wednesday Addams. The American coming-of-age supernatural comedy horror achieved overnight fame and broke the internet. In its debut week, the show left behind Stranger Things to create the record for most hours viewed in a week for an English-language Netflix series.

Wednesday Season 1 has scored a staggering 252.1 million views so far to become the most popular TV show on Netflix. Millie Bobby Brown led Stranger Things is second on the list but lags behind by a huge margin. It has scored a total of 140.7 million views so far.

This means Wednesday has scored 79% higher views than Stranger Things 4. It will take a lot of hard work for any Netflix creation to achieve this milestone in their lifetime.
On the third spot is DAHMER: Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story, which has 115.6 million views on the streaming platform. Rege-Jean Page and Phoebe Dynevor led Bridgerton Season 1 is placed 4th with a total of 113.3 million views. Wednesday has scored about 122% higher views than the American historical fiction-romance series. Impressive, isn’t it?

As most know, Jenna Ortega worked beyond an actor in the first installment. The 21-year-old actress herself choreographed the viral dance sequence. She also gave her input in dialogues and other creative work.
Jenna will be producing Season 2 and playing the lead role. The show was expected to hit Netflix in 2024 but was delayed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. The creators are yet to announce the release date.
