Erica Fernandes Addresses Discrimination Faced By Television Actors In The Film Industry, Says “I’ve Seen It… Big Names Have Done It”

During the promotion of Love Adhura, Erica Fernandes and Karan Kundrra shared their opinions on facing discrimination in Bollywood because of their background in television. While Karan shared that he was treated well during Mubarakan, Erica had a contrasting experience with the treatment of TV stars in the film industry.

Speaking to Indian Express, Erica Fernandes revealed that she felt the resistance toward TV actors and said, “I have faced it, I have seen it at award functions also, big names have done it. I have experienced it.” Drawing parallels to Hollywood, she added, ” In Hollywood, TV and films are both called Hollywood, then why is there a differentiation here? Actors themselves have created that differentiation. But it differs from person to person.”
Karan Kundrra shared his experience of working with industry stalwarts, including Anil Kapoor, Ratna Pathak Shah, and Rahul Dev in Mubarakan. The film featured Arjun Kapoor as the lead, with Ileana D’Cruz opposite him. Karan revealed they were all very opposite of discriminating, and there were times when Anil asked him how to stay relevant.
