After a successful first season, The Traitors is set to return with a brand-new edition. Streaming platform Prime Video has officially announced the premiere date for Season 2 of the reality show, with Karan Johar returning as the host. Along with the release announcement, the makers have also confirmed the first two celebrity contestants.
The reality series, based on the internationally popular format The Traitors became one of the most talked-about streaming shows in India during its debut season. With another round of trust, betrayal, and mind games on the way, expectations are already high for the new season.
The Traitors Season 2 Release Date
The makers dropped a first video, teasing about what to expect in the second season, and confirmed the release date. Prime Video has announced that The Traitors Season 2 will premiere on August 13, 2026. The show will stream exclusively on the platform, with new episodes dropping every Thursday.

First Two Contestants Confirmed
The makers have also revealed the first two celebrity participants for the upcoming season. Actress Mallika Sherawat and reality star Munawar Faruqui will be among the contestants competing in the game. More celebrity names are expected to be announced in the coming weeks ahead of the premiere.
Karan Johar will return as the host of the reality show, who will guide contestants through a game of trust, deception, and strategy. Just like the last season, contestants will compete while trying to find out who among them are the traitors.
A Look Back At Season 1
The first season aired from June 12 to July 3, 2025, and was based on the Dutch format, De Verraders. The show had contestants from the film, television, sports, and digital worlds, including Karan Kundrra, Raj Kundra, Jasmin Bhasin, and Raftaar. In season 1, the “Innocents” Uorfi Javed and Nikita Luther won the title and split the ₹70.05 lakh prize fund.
