Cue the HBO credits, and we are seated for the new Game Of Thrones Prequel. There’s just a buffet of good news for fans of George RR Martin’s blockbuster series. After a hit season and another in the waiting of GOT’s Prequel House of the Dragon, we get more stories from Westeros and the world of Thrones. The prequel titled ‘Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight’ is officially in the works and has cast its lead actors! Here’s what we know!

Game of Thrones was the hit HBO show that started Sunday binge-watching globally. The series followed the struggle for the Iron Throne and quickly achieved cult status after its first season. It was all anyone could talk about for almost 10 years of its run. The after-effect is still seen, with new theories and reactions coming years later. But fans wanted more, and George RR Martin, the master behind it all, decided to grant their wishes.

The first prequel of the show, House of the Dragons, set 200 years before GOT took place, brought back the classic fanfare attached to the show. Season 1 of the show was very successful, making way for season 2, which comes out in June. But fans also remembered rumors of more prequels and spinoffs in the works, especially the Jon Snow spinoff, but there was no new update.

But we have good news- another prequel, Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, is officially in the works of HBO. The show has finally cast its leads, Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell. The HBO series is based on the characters Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg. It is based on  George R.R. Martin’s Tales of Dunk and Egg novels. Peter Claffey has been cast as Dunk, and Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg.

The official logline of the show goes as such, “A century before the events of ‘Game of Thrones,’ two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall (Claffey), and his diminutive squire, Egg (Ansell). Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits await these improbable and incomparable friends.”

There is a lot of hype about the new prequel. And reports suggest this show will go on air after House of the Dragon’s story ends. While House of the Dragon takes place 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the events of the new prequel are set a century ago.

George RR Martin returns as the writer and executive producer on the show along with Ira Parker. Meanwhile, GOT executive and House of the Dragon’s Ryan Condal returns as executive producer. Vince Gerardis, Owen Harris, and Sarah Bradshaw also serve as Executive Producers.
